Khalid wants daily to explain news report on Azmin Ali as next MB
Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim wants an explanation from a Chinese daily pertaining to a news report that the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) leadership has reportedly appointed Bukit Antarabangsa state assemblyman Mohamed Azmin Ali to replace him.
He said the daily was asked to make the explanation to him by next week before the Chinese New Year celebration.
"The speculation is not very good, so that is why I want an explanation from Sin Chew from where the story originated. This is because it will burden the people...if the story is true, it is alright but it is not good if it is not true," he told reporters after attending the state government 'Jom Shopping' programme here Saturday.
Previously Abdul Khalid was reported to be under pressure, especially from the PKR leadership council members, to resign from his Menteri Besar's post.
PKR Secretary-General Saifuddin Nasution was quoted to have said several council members had demanded for Abdul Khalid's resignation, which, however, was not a motion while the council did not make any such decision for him to resign.
