Khazanah Nasional announced the appointment of Christoph R. Mueller as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Malaysia Airlines (MAS) effective January 1, 2015.
Mueller who is the current CEO of Aer Lingus, Ireland’s national carrier was also named Non-Executive Director of MAS Board of Directors.
Mueller’s appointment was approved by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
According to Najib, Mueller’s appointment is vital in creating a strong foundation for the future success of the national carrier.
Apart from that, Khazanah also announced the appointment of Celcom Axiata Berhad CEO and Director, Seri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly as the Non-Executive Director of MAS Board of Directors.
Mueller and Mohammed Shazalli’s nomination to join the Board of Director is following the appointment of Mohd Izani Ashari as the Non-Independent Non-Executive Director on September 12, 2014.
The new list of MAS Board of Directors which will begin effective January 1, 2015, are as below:

On another developmet, Khazanah Nasional also announced the appointment of Tan Sri Bashir Ahmad Abdul Majid as Chairman of the Corporate Restructuring Skills Centre (CRC), which is scheduled for launch on April 1 next year.
Shahryn Azmi was named CEO of the CRC, while Datuk Boonler Wongsupan appointed as Non-Executive Director and Advisory CRC.
Bashir, Shahryn and Boonler’s appointment will take effect on January 1, 2015.
