Kindergarten pupil killed in hit-and-run accident

A kindergarten pupil was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Taman Mawar Batu 5 here today.

Police are now tracking down the vehicle.

Sandakan District Police Chief ACP Azhar Hamin said the incident occurred at 11.45am when the six-year-old boy was returning home from the kindergarten.

After the boy alighted from the vehicle he was in and walked back to his house, he was hit by a car.

ACP Azhar said members of the public with information on the case should contact the police to help track down the car by calling 089-212222 or Investigation Officer Insp Zabir Aripin at 013-8021701. -- Bernama
