King confers federal awards on 281 recipients

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah today conferred federal awards and medals on 281 recipients in conjunction with his birthday this year. Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah was also present at the investiture carried out at the Istana Negara here. A former defence minister, Tan Sri Abang Abu Bakar Abang Mustapha was among the four recipients of the Darjah Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM) which carries the title Tan Sri. The three other recipients were executive chairman of Kumpulan Obyu Holdings Sdn Bhd Kuala Lumpur Tan Sri Bustari Yusuf, chairman of the Frencken Group Limited, Penang, Tan Sri Low Hock Peng, and the chairman of Achijaya Sdn Bhd Kuala Lumpur, Tan Sri Onn Mahmud. The Yang di-Pertuan Agong also conferred the Darjah Panglima Jasa Negara (PJN) which carries the title Datuk on six recipients. They were Senator Datuk V.Subramaniam, Deputy Auditor-General Datuk Anwari Suri, the president of the Federation of the Malaysian Association of the Lim Clan, Datuk Lim Ah Nge. Universiti Malaysia Perlis Vice-Chancellor Brigadier Jeneral Professor Datuk Dr Kamarudin Hussin, Navy First Admiral Datuk Ahmad Kamal Yahya and former Commander of the North Brigade Datuk Ishak Kasim. The King also conferred the Johan Mangku Negara (JMN) on four recipients, while 12 individuals were conferred the Johan Setia Mahkota (JSM), 39 were conferred the Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN), 75 received the Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN), 133 received the Pingat Pangkuan Negara (PPN), and eight received the Bentara Setia Diraja (BSD).
