Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam lambasted DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang over the latter's tweet that Malaysia was unsafe for children like William Yau Zhen Zhong.
On Jan 24, the decomposed body of William, 6, was found afloat near the Kampung Sungai Sireh jetty in Port Klang.
Mohd Ali (pic) described the post, which also blamed the Umno leadership and Barisan Nasional (BN) for the tragedy, as "stupid" and "nonsensical".
He said that Lim should instead, blame Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim for the lax security in Selangor.
"Why didn't he ask the Selangor Menteri Besar why the incident took place in the state? Why not ask the Selangor DAP what they had done?," he asked after handing over early schooling aid to 305 students here today.
The chief minister was asked to comment on Lim's post on Jan 26, which stated, "6 years William Yau's tragic death-apart from Umno/BN ministers, leaders, Malaysia just not safe even for Children like William".
William, the second child of Goh Ying Ying, 26, and Yau Kok Kang, 32, went missing on Jan 16, in Jalan Putra Mahkota, Putra Heights, Subang Jaya after he reportedly alighted from the car to look for his parents who went to an electrical shop.
Eight days later, a body was found at the jetty before police confirmed it as that of the victim, based on the preliminary DNA report from the Chemistry Department.
