#KitaLawan: Surrender or face action, IGP tells rally organisers
KHALID: Those involved should just come forward and save the trouble for both the police and themselves.
Police urged organisers of the #KitaLawan street demonstrations in the capital city last Saturday to surrender.
If they fail to do so, there will be a manhunt for those involved and they will be detained, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar warned.
He said the police have identified the individuals involved. They are urged to come forward to the nearest police station to facilitate investigations, he said.
"Those involved in organising the demonstration, you know who you are.
"Come forward. Save the trouble for both you and I. No need for us to look for you in the middle of the night," Khalid said Monday.
The police assured that investigations would also be done on other issues that arose during the gathering.
So far, two PKR members had been detained -- Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and Kelana Jaya Youth chief Saifullah Zulkifli -- with the former being remanded for three days until Wednesday.
The case is investigated under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 and Section 143 of the Penal Code, which states those guilty of partaking in an unlawful assembly can face six months' jail or a fine, or both.
Meanwhile, on a separate matter, Khalid said he has yet to track down the suspect who threatened to blow up his car.
Initial investigations revealed that the social networking site account used to upload the threat is registered abroad.
