#KitaLawan: Two state assemblymen among four arrested in Johor rally

Bukit Batu state assemblyman Jimmy Puah and Mengkibol state assemblyman Tan Hong Ping were among four individuals arrested by police after they participated in the #KitaLawan rally, here on Saturday.
South Johor Baharu Police chief ACP Sulaiman Salleh when contacted confirmed that the arrests had been made.
"They were arrested under Section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act and Section 143 of the Penal Code," he told Bernama via SMS, here on Saturday.
Bernama sources said the two other individuals arrested were Sidiq Omar, a rally participant, and Tan Peng Chye, a personal assistant to Puah.
All of them were brought to the Sentral Police Station, here.
Checks by Bernama found that the rally comprising 50 peope started at 4pm.
The participants wearing black clothing and carrying banners with the words 'Tolak GST' (Reject GST),'Undur Najib' (Najib Step Down), 'Undur Rosmah' (Rosmah Step Down) and 'Kita Lawan'.
All the participants were walking and beating drums, shouting 'reformasi', four individuals gave a short speech. The rally caused traffic congestion.
