Minister of Youth and Sports Khairy Jamaluddin, whose house was broken into today, reminded Malaysians that crime is “real” and everyone must remain vigilant.
“This incident is a reminder to us all that crime is a serious problem in our country. It is a real and not just merely a perception,” Khairy said in a Facebook posting today.
“Thankfully no one was hurt and I leave the matter in the hands of the police,” he added.
He also asked other victims of crime to be strong, and to all Malaysians he advised:”Always keep you and your family safe.”
Earlier, Bernama reported that three men broke into Khairy’s house in Jalan Setiabistari, Bukit Damansara on Saturday.
City CID chief Datuk Ku Chin Wah said that the trio, who had come in a Proton Waja car, scaled the perimeter wall before barging into the house through the front door which was unlocked.
The suspects ran off with several laptops and watches.
"The minister and his wife were not at home and only their maid was around.
"The maid was too terrified to do anything. She said they also ransacked the master bedroom," he said in a statement here today.
He added that total losses were still being investigated.
