KK police warn social media users to stop spreading rumours on suicide bombers
He said those who resorted to spreading such rumours would face the "full brunt of the law".
Kota Kinabalu police today warned social media users to stop spreading rumours about the presence of suicide bombers from the Abu Sayyaf terrorist group in Sabah, specifically in the city.
City police chief ACP M.Chandra said police viewed the matter seriously and would not hesitate to take action against the rumour-mongers.
In a statement here today, he said there was no truth to the rumours and that security and safety of the public was the police's top priority.
He added that those who resorted to spreading such rumours would face the "full brunt of the law".
