PETALING JAYA: Malaysia berdepan kekurangan khidmat kakitangan perubatan khususnya jururawat di hospital seluruh negara.
Menteri Kesihatan, Khairy Jamaluddin berkata, untuk itu Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) sedang mengenal pasti secara menyeluruh jumlah kakitangan jururawat yang diperlukan bagi memenuhi keperluan sektor berkenaan dalam tempoh jangka masa panjang.
Jelasnya, beliau menerima maklum balas tersebut semasa mengadakan lawatan kerja ke beberapa buah hospital dan dialog dengan kumpulan dalam sektor berkenaan sebelum ini.
"Saya telah mengadakan dialog bersama kumpulan pelaksana dan mereka melaporkan isu berkaitan kekurangan jururawat.
"Kemungkinan setelah selesai isu doktor kontrak ini, saya akan mula memberi tumpuan kepada kumpulan pelaksana pula,” katanya pada sidang media selepas Majlis Perasmian Kompleks Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) dan Projek Naik Taraf Bekalan Gas Perubatan Pusat Kawalan Kusta Negara (PKNN) di Hospital Sungai Buloh (HSB) pada Jumaat.
Turut hadir Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, Pengarah Bahagian Kejuruteraan (KKM), Tauran Zaidi Ahmad Zaidi dan Pengarah HSB, Dr Kuldip Prem Singh.
Sementara itu , Khairy berkata kontak rapat pesakit COVID-19 hanya perlu menggunakan kit ujian pantas (RTK) Antigen COVID-19 ekoran tindak balas ujian saringan pengesanan RT-PCR COVID-19 akan mengesan virus itu meskipun kadar kebolehjangkitan sangat rendah.
"Berikutan situasi tersebut, kita tidak menyarankan kaedah PCR digunakan dalam semua keadaan dan kaedah RTK sudah mencukupi kerana ia dapat kesan mereka yang mempunyai viral load yang tinggi.
"Kita yakin dengan protokol baharu, mereka yang telah menerima dos penggalak dan menjadi kontak rapat pesakit COVID-19 hanya perlu buat RTK kerana kaedah tersebut mampu saring mereka yang mempunyai kadar kebolehjangkitan yang tinggi,” katanya.
Pada Khamis, Khairy mengumumkan individu berumur 18 tahun ke atas yang menjadi kontak rapat kepada kes positif COVID-19 yang menerima dos penggalak dan tidak bergejala pada hari pertama, tidak perlu menjalani kuarantin bermula 1 Mac.
