KL second best city in Southeast Asia

Kuala Lumpur is listed as second-best city to live in Southeast Asia followed by Johor Bahru in third place this year.

The list was issued by a consultant firm, Mercer, today on its website via the list 'Mercer's 2017 Quality of Living Rankings' used by multinational companies to create packages of countries which are conducive for expatriates to stay in.

Singapore came out on top as the best place to stay in Southeast Asia.

Mercer placed Kuala Lumpur in 86th position and Johor Bahru in number 103 out of 231 cities in the world researched.

First place went to Vienna in Austria followed by Zurich (Switzerland), Auckland (New Zealand), Munich (Germany), and Vancouver (Canada).

The research looked at 10 categories including political and social environments, economy, natural surroundings, housing, health services and educationy.

Mercer, a United States-based company, conducted consultation services, data collection and research to help commercial companies make executive decisions.

Earlier, Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor announced that the ministry had plans to ensure Kuala Lumpur would be in the list of 10 best cities to reside in, in the world by 2020. - BERNAMA
