The garbage collected by Alam Flora Sdn Bhd (Alam Flora) during the 'KL112' rally organised by the opposition on Jan 12 could fill half of a single-storey house.
Its Kuala Lumpur service manager Mohd Idris Mohamed Yusof said the collection did not include the litter inside Stadium Merdeka managed by Merdeka Heritage Trust.
"The garbage were collected from eight locations in the vicinity of the stadium, as well as along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Sultan, at KLCC, Pasar Seni, Masjid Negara, Kelab Sultan Sulaiman and Brickfields," he told Bernama, here, Thursday.
He said Alam Flora had to take two consecutive days from 7am to 8pm to clear and clean the areas, involving 79 workers and three compactor lorries at a cost of about RM21,250.
Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Ahmad Phesal Talib said Alam Flora could submit a report and claim for any additional costs it had incurred.
