KLCC celebrates Merdeka with wishes of a nation

As the nation celebrates its 56th year of independence, KLCC joins in the revelry with a meaningful celebration entitled Wishes of a Nation at the Esplanade, KLCC Park, within the mesmerising ambience of the KLCC Symphony Fountains. Featuring both popular and cultural performances by the likes of Faizal Tahir and cultural groups, this years celebration promises to be a visual spectacle that marks the countrys journey of independence with rare historical footages drawn from the archives of the 1940s & 50s, PETRONAS Merdeka TV commercials and an interactive visual display wall that allows the audience to post up live pictures and messages on the eve of Merdeka. The evening is further enhanced though a chorus of familiar patriotic tunes synchronised to the majestic display of the musical fountain accompanied by building video mapping. The nights event will be capped with a spectacular fireworks display as the finale at the most iconic location in Kuala Lumpur. Programme starts at 9.00pm and runs till midnight, 30th August at the Esplanade, KLCC Park.
