East Coast Highway concessionaire suspects the existence of logging activities at KM52.4 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway, yesterday.
President and Chief Executive Officer of Anih Berhad, Datuk Azmil Khalid however refused to confirm any activities taking place.
“I did not witness it myself, so I am unable to say. Then it is slander.
“I am not sure, I think there is. If not this incident will not happen,” said Azmil.
He added that the monitoring done by Anih was limited as it was only allowed to monitor areas under their surveillance.
Azmil at the same time denied information spread stating that the incident yesterday was a landslide.
“If there was land movement then it is a landslide. This is not a landslide, this is the flow of water and dust,” said Azmil who was met here today.
He also proposed for a dialogue session to take place between Anih and the Malaysian Highway Authority and several other agencies in overcoming this issue.
Azmil also directed his department to carry out cleaning work immediately to ensure that the highway can be used as fast as possible.
