Kluang seamstress dies in alleged stabbing by husband

A 47-year-old seamstress has died after being allegedly stabbed by her husband at their house at Taman Kluang Barat, Kluang, early today.
Johor CID chief, senior assistant commissioner Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the victim's son in his 20s, found her lifeless body on the floor with stab wounds to the chest and other injuries upon returning from work at 5.30 am today.
He said the woman's husband, a 52-year-old cook was found lying across her body, with injuries on his wrist.
"Investigations found that the incident was related to domestic problems; the man is believed to have stabbed his wife and attempted to kill himself," he told reporters at the Johor police contingent headquarters here today.
Kamarul Zaman said a knife and a pair of scissors were also recovered, and the suspect had been sent to hospital and reported to be in stable condition.
"The case is being investigated under Section 302 and section 309 of the Penal Code," he added.
