A 37-year-old woman who was going through a divorce snuffed out her two sons' lives before taking her own, at an unnumbered house in Kampung Baru here, yesterday.
Samarahan district police chief, DSP Lee Chong Chern, said the woman was believed to have committed suicide after killing the boys aged seven and four years old by hanging herself in the toilet of the house.
"Police received a call from the public at 7.55pm about the discovery of two children's bodies in suspicious circumstances.
"Upon inspecting the house, police found two children in a bedroom with black mouths.
"The seven-year-old was already lifeless while the four-year-old was in critical condition and passed away while being rushed to Kota Samarahan Heart Centre," he said when contacted this morning.
Chong Chern said there was also an opened bottle of 'clorox' in the bedroom where the children were found.
"No element of crime was found at the scene. The case is being investigated as sudden death," he said.
