The Kelab Putera 1Malaysia (KP1M) will try to bring back 100 women and children from Gaza who were injured following the Israeli aggression to receive follow-up treatment in Malaysia.
Its president, Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said if this materialised, they would be treated at the National Heart Institute (IJN) or any general hospital or private medical institutions that were willing to offer aid.
"The condition of the patients from Gaza will be assessed first by medical experts before they are brought back to receive treatment in Malaysia," he said.
Abdul Azeez said this after the sending off of the KP1M Humanitarian Aid Mission to Gaza, Palestine by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at the KL International Airport (KLIA), here today.
Meanwhile, the KP1M president, who is also chairman of the Umno Welfare Bureau, said the 71-man mission this time would comprise volunteers, doctors and medical practitioners who would visit hospitals in Gaza and the Malaysian doctors would treat the patients there.
Besides sending medicines and medical equipment weighing 40 tons, Abdul Azeez said the Malaysian team would also carry out several humanitarian programmes in Gaza.
