KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) will continue to work towards ensuring a safe, nutritious, and accessible food supply for all Malaysians, particularly for those in need, said Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.
In a statement today, he said there is a strong connection between balanced nutrition and family health, particularly for mothers and children.
He said the 2025 World Health Day, which carries the 'Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures' theme, stresses the importance of healthcare among mothers and babies as a key foundation for community well-being and the nation's sustainable development.
"Maternal and child health not only reflects the progress of a country's healthcare system, but also serves as a benchmark for our ability to build a healthy, intelligent, and competitive generation," he said in a post on his Facebook today.
He also called on the public to renew the commitment to maintaining health in conjunction with the celebration.
"Indeed, a healthy start will lead to a brighter future for our country. Happy World Health Day 2025," he added.
World Health Day is observed annually on April 7 under the sponsorship of the World Health Organisation.
