The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry (KPWKM) will distribute RM118,000 to 44 Women and Family Development Councils (MPWK) throughout the country in appreciation of their voluntary work for flood victims in the affected states last year.
Its Deputy Minister Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun said the funds were for five states, namely Terengganu (eight parliamentary constituencies), Kelantan (13), Pahang (12), Johor (4) and Perak (7).
"The allocation we disburse to MPWK in each of the affected parliamentary constituency is to enable them organise programmes to entertain flood volunteers.
"We really appreciate the roles of volunteers in helping the federal government at evacuation centres ... including the Welfare Department and other government bodies," she said.
She was speaking to the media after a presentation of post-flood contribution for Hulu Terengganu Parliamentary constituency here on Thursday.
