KTMB commuter service for all routes is currently interrupted due to a broken switch rail at the Kuala Lumpur station.
The Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) commuter service for all routes is currently interrupted due to a broken switch rail at the Kuala Lumpur station.
KTMB Corporate Communication unit head Ridwan Arshad, when confirming this, refuted a claim, which had gone viral, that the KTMB railway track was broken.
He said the switch rail broke at the main station and this caused the service to be interrupted.
"We got to know about it at about 7 am (peak hour) and repair work is in progress.
"As a result of the damage, the KTMB service is only using one lane and therefore, the service will be delayed for 20 to 30 minutes," he said when contacted by Bernama.
Ridwan said KTMB apologised for all the inconvenience caused to the public, especially its commuters, who were forced to find alternative transport to get to their work place and other destinations.
