KTMB Berhad will impose a surcharge of RM100 for passengers who ride on the Intercity train or ETS without a valid ticket, said KTMB today.
The surcharge imposed for such offenders effective March 1, is an effort to educate the public, especially passengers to ensure they had a valid ticket before coming on board the train.
"Valid tickets are important to determine the comfort and safety of passengers because passengers with a valid ticket have insurance coverage," said KTMB in the statement.
Passengers who wished to use the services of Intercity and ETS can buy tickets at KTMB counters or through online services provided via the internet through www.ktm.com.my using the KTMB MobTicket or through agents appointed by the KTMB.
For further information, passengers can contact the KTMB information line at 03-22671200 or through KTMB email [email protected]. - BERNAMA
