KUALA LUMPUR: Without trying to conceal anything, Gua Musang Member of Parliament, Tan Sri Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah has voiced his desire to be the Prime Minister.

Although the wish may not get the support of his party, the 84 -year-old former Finance Minister thinks he has everything that was required to hold the post.

According to a report in The Vibes, Tengku Razaleigh, or affectionately known as Ku Li, also claimed that the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was not qualified to hold the post.

Commenting on the three names mentioned as Prime Minister, Ku Li labelled Muhyiddin as "lazy" and Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali as "unqualified".

Meanwhile, for the Leader of the Opposition, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Ku Li claimed that Anwar would make the country "bankrupt in three days".

"(Who should be the Prime Minister?) It’s me.

“But I don’t think I will be (prime minister). I don’t know, I don’t seem to have the support of the party.

"I may get the support of opposition members but not UMNO," he said.

At the same time, he also criticised the current government and said that they did not have the quality to lead the country.

The harshest criticism from him was to Mohamed Azmin whom he labelled as "unqualified and unfit" to be given the ministerial post.

“I am surprised that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad named him as the Minister of Economic Affairs when Pakatan Harapan (PH) won the Federal Government in 2018.

"Look at him, he has not dealt with anything, even at MITI today. I don’t think he has the ability to carry out ministerial duties.

“He was only given the MITI job because of his involvement in bringing down PH. It is not fair to give him such a responsibility because we are talking about the country.

“You cannot let Azmin handle trade knowing full well that he is not capable to do so. Can he deal with the crisis if it happens?” he asserted.
