Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway remains closed to traffic

The Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KLK) remained closed to all traffic due to safety factor following the mudslide on Wednesday evening.
The expressway concessionaire, Anih Berhad in a statement said the routes will remain closed until further notice.
It added that only vehicles stranded between Selesa Hillhomes and Bentong Plaza are permitted through the expressway.
Both lanes on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway remain closed.
The Public Works Department Slope Engineering Branch will also monitor to see whether there is ground movement or passage of water at the scene.

A landslide occurred at KM52.4 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway near Bukit Tinggi on Wednesday evening.
According to the Malaysian Highway Authority's official Twitter (@LLMinfotrafik), both north- and south-bound roads have been closed and traffic was at a standstill.
Highway users have been advised to use alternative routes. Those from Kuantan are to take the Bentong exit while those from Kuala Lumpur are to exit at Genting Sempah.
