Kuching-bound helicopter carrying VIPs feared missing

A helicopter heading to Kuching from Betong was reportedly missing since today afternoon.
According to a Bernama report, the Director General of Civil Aviation ( DCA) Datuk Seri Azharuddin Abdul Rahman confirmed the incident.

" The helicopter took off from Betong at about 4.12pm and was supposed to arrive Kuching around 5pm, " he told Bernama.
The Sarawak Commissioner of Police Datuk Seri Sabtu Osman in a press conference held at 11.35pm at the Police Headquarters near Jalan Badruddin in Kuching, confirmed that the helicopter took off from its place of origin in Betong at 4.32pm.
Sabtu also said that SAR mission would be mobilised as early as 6am, Friday.
Eurocopter AS350 aircraft is operated by a local company.
