AZLAN: Ketum abuse is getting rampant in the state of Perlis.
The Perlis government has warned landowners who cultivateketumtrees on their land they will face drastic action including having their land titles withdrawn.
Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man said the ruling was introduced lastyear butit had not been enforced.
"The state government viewsketumabuse seriously as many students are involved. We will not hesitate to act on those who misused their land," he told reporters after launching My Beautiful Malaysia (MBM)programmein Kampung Rambai, Pauh, yesterday.
Theprogrammeorganisedby Perlis National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) was also attended by its director, Azizah Ahmad.
Azlan said the state government's initiative was to curbketumabuse which was getting rampant in the state.
