Residents of Jalan Berlian 2, Bandar Putra near Kulai were shocked by a landslide that occurred about a metre from their homes Saturday morning.

Bandar Putra Fire and Rescue Department senior fire officer Mohd Nasib Mohd Sam said however, no one was injured in the landslide which resulted in a mound of loose soil of about 30 metres high.

He said the incident was likely to due rain.

"We received a distress call at 7.41am, before despatching two engines and 11 personnel to the scene to monitor the situation," he added when contacted here.

Mohd Nasib said some residents had also claimed there were cracks on the road, a few days before the landslide.

State public works, rural and regional development committee chairman, Datuk Hasni Mohammad said the Kulai Public Works Department had reported the landslide to the Kulai Municipal Council. - BERNAMA
