About 40 people from seven houses in Taman Kelab Ukay, Bukit Antarabangsa were ordered to leave their homes following a landslide behind a two-storey terrace house in the area.
About 40 people from seven houses in Taman Kelab Ukay, Bukit Antarabangsa near Ampang were ordered to leave their homes following a landslide behind a two-storey terrace house in the area.
The action was taken as a precautionary measure after the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department received a report of the incident at 2.21am.
According to Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Assistant Director Hafisham Mohd Noor, he then deployed a machine with eight firemen from the Ampang Fire and Rescue Station to the scene to monitor.
He said, 40 residents in seven houses were ordered to leave their homes for their safety.
"The incident is believed to be caused by soil movement as heavy rain has continued since yesterday afternoon.
"At this time all the residents are not allowed to remain in their homes until the local government authority decide what to do next," he said when contacted by Astro AWANI.
To date, various agencies have begun inspecting and monitoring the area and it is expected that remedial work will be undertaken soon.
