Langat 2 construction delayed by 29 months

The construction of the Sungai Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant (Langat 2) and the Distribution System is suffering a delay of up to 40.55 per cent, or about 29 months from the original schedule due to the refusal of the Selangor state government in giving the required approval.
Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui said according to the original schedule, the project should be 68.95 per cent ready but as of October, the status of the project construction was only 28.40 per cent ready.
"Construction of the Langat 2 Plant with a capacity of 1,130 million litres daily was first advertised on Sept 4 and would be closed on Dec 27 and according to the plan, construction was expected to begin in June 2013," he said.
He said this when replying to a question from Senator Chew Lee Giok (she) who wanted to know the latest development on the construction of the Langat 2 Plant at the Senate, here Tuesday.
