Last 6 ISA detainees to be released today
The last six Internal Security Act (ISA) detainees at Taiping Detention Camp, Perak will be released today.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said they were members of the terrorist group Darul Islamiah (DI) Sabah arrested on Nov 14, 2011.
"They consist of three Malaysians, two Indonesians and a Filipino," he said in a statement here yesterday.
The Malaysians who will be released are Adzmi Pindatun, Mohd Nazri Dollah and Bakar Baba.
The Indonesians are Muhammad Adnan Umar and Darto Bandu while the Filipino is Muadz Hakim.
Their release followed repeal of the ISA which was replaced with the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 on July 31, 2012.
