The Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah said the country's aerial defence system should keep up to date with the latest developments in aerospace technology to ensure the security of Malaysia's air space.
He said the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) should master the latest technology in all aspects including aircraft defense, engineering, logistics and management technology to optimise its role.
"The RMAF's involvement in the Lahad Datu Operations recently proved that by using precision technology, it had given an advantage to the security forces in defeating the invaders of our national sovereignty.
"The sophistication of the precision weapon system that was used has nailed the intended target and succeeded in preventing collateral damage," he said at the Parade in conjunction with the RMAF 55th Anniversary at the RMAF Base, here today.
His Highness, who took pride in the development of RMAF strategic asset acquisitions such as the purchase of the EC-725 aircraft, said with the inclusion of new assets, the force was able to soar and inspire members of the air force, thus enabling them to accomplish their security missions in any situation.
He also congratulated and expressed his appreciation to the RMAF especially to the personnel involved in Ops Daulat who had shown a high level of competency and fighting spirit in performing their mission.
