Lawyer wanted by police for three years arrested today

A male lawyer who was being hunted by the Malaysian police for over three years on commercial criminal offences, was finally arrested in Singapore, at about 10am today.
Johor police chief Datuk Rusli Ahmad who confirmed the arrest said, the suspect, in his 40s, was arrested after Interpol issued an arrest warrant against him and informed the Singapore police.
"He was said to have arrived at Changi International Airport via a flight from the Middle East at about 8pm on Tuesday.
"Through the court order obtained, we will bring the suspect to the state for further investigation," he said without disclosing the lawyer's name here, today.
The suspect had been wanted by the Malaysian police here after being involved in fraud cases amounting to some RM660,000.
He is also said to have high connections, including those in the royal family.
