LCS: PAC receives declassified report
PAC chairman Wong Kah Woh in a statement today said the declassification of the JKSTUPKK report was in line with the Cabinet's decision on Aug 10. - BERNAMA
KUALA LUMPUR: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has received the report of the Governance, Procurement, and Finance Investigation Committee (JKSTUPKK) regarding the acquisition of six Second Generation Patrol Vessels (SGPV) of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) project which were declassified by the Prime Minister's Department (JPM).
PAC chairman Wong Kah Woh in a statement today said the declassification of the report was in line with the Cabinet's decision on Aug 10.
"There are facts in the report that were redacted by JPM, but it does not affect the overall report.
"However, PAC still maintains that the redaction is unnecessary because the information in relation to the directors and shareholders of Boustead Holdings Bhd, Boustead Naval Shipyard (BNS) and Perstim Industries Sdn Bhd is open information and can be obtained in a search via the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM)," he said.
He said the JKSTUPKK report on the LCS project can be accessed at https://www.parlimen.gov.my/pac/review/docs-257-317.pdf.
Wong said PAC is still waiting for the forensic audit report on BNS to be declassified, in line with the Cabinet's decision.
