KUALA LUMPUR: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) welcomed today's Cabinet decision to adopt the two most important recommendations in its Report on the Procurement of Littoral Combat Ships (LCS), said its chairman Wong Kah Woh.
Wong said the two recommendations are on declassifying the governance, procurement and finance investigation committee's (JKSTUPKK) report as well as the need for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to take quick action on the findings of PAC's Report, JKSTUPKK Report and forensic audit report.
"The proactive decision of the Cabinet on the recommendations of PAC proved the importance of the committee to ensure all government procedures and financial acquisitions are adhered to for the benefit of the people and the country," according to the statement.
Wong said PAC will continue to monitor the compliance and implementation of other PAC recommendations in the LCS Procurement report.
Earlier, the Cabinet urged MACC to expedite investigations on the LCS issue.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a statement today said the Cabinet Ministers' Meeting also decided that the JKSTUPKK Report be made public.
Apart from that, Cabinet Ministers also proposed that the LCS Project Forensic Audit report which was conducted in 2019 be declassified but the process has to receive the advice and views of the Attorney General and Auditor General earlier.
