The Parent Action Group for Education (PAGE) said it was not surprised by the recent leak of the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examination papers.
PAGE chairperson Datin Noor Azimah Abdul Rahim examination paper leaks have become common and happens almost every year.
"This happens every year and I don’t know why this time its so big?” she said when contacted by Astro AWANI.
Noor Azimah said the Education Ministry must deal with the leak swiftly and identify those behind the recent fiasco.
"Those responsible should be identified soon and be suspended from their position to prevent this incident from repeating," she said adding that action must be taken, regardless of their position.
Noor Azimah said the ministry also needed to clarify the actual context of leaked papers.
“If it is a photocopied paper or the question paper has similar words, then it is not considered as leaked,” she added.
The exam sitting, which was initially scheduled to be held on Sept 11, has now been postponed to Sept 30.
Meanwhile, the Education Ministry said the UPSR's English and Aptitude examinations will go on as scheduled after a false tweet claiming that the English paper will be postponed.
The Mathematics 1 paper is also believed to have been leaked and spread to more than 400,000 exam candidates who sat for the paper on Wednesday morning.
A teacher told Astro AWANI about receiving the photos of the leaked questions and answers through WhatsApp at 7.40am - the Mathematics paper started at 8.15am.
The police have started their investigation on the leaked Science examination papers for the UPSR in accordance with the provisions under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) 1972.
It is understood the investigation is made following a report filed by the Malaysia Examinations Board director Na'imah Ishak at the Putrajaya police headquarters on Wednesday afternoon.
