Let's get rid of egos, sit at the table for the sake of rakyat - Nazri Aziz

KUALA LUMPUR: All MPs need to set aside their egos and sit at the same table for the sake of the rakyat, said Padang Rengas Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz.

Nazri said all MPs need to prove that they really work for the people instead of focusing more on positions.

Apart from that, Nazri also urged the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to act proactively and immediately call on all party leaders in the government and the opposition to discuss the 2021 Budget.

"Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin should immediately call all party leaders in the government and the opposition to discuss the 2021. Budget. Forget for a moment the disputes for the sake of the rakyat.

"The Yang di-Pertuan Agong has twice said not to play politics but to support Budget 2021. So, we should understand," he told Astro AWANI.

Commenting further, Nazri also urged any party that is planning a position in the government to immediately stop the matter.

"Respect all parties and carry out your responsibilities for the sake of the rakyat and the country," he added.

On Wednesday, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah once again advised all Members of the Dewan Rakyat to give their full support to the 2021 Budget.

In a statement today, Istana Negara’s Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Indera Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said His Majesty said that support for the Budget was important for the well-being and survival of the rakyat, as well as the country's economic recovery affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.
