Datuk Seri Najib Razak believed there is much to look forward to in the coming New Year, despite it being a time of global uncertainty.
In his blog www.najibrazak.com, the Prime Minister said Malaysians are blessed and fortunate to live in a nation with different ethnic groups that live together in peace and harmony.
"The Christmas season brings good tidings, hope and reconciliation for all Christians.
"Indeed, we live in a nation with diverse cultures and traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation.
"I believe this Christmas too, like many other Malaysian celebrations, will be greeted with enthusiasm. This is the time when we come together to share joy and laughter, to reconcile, and strengthen our bonds with friends and family while we enjoy the food we love.
"We have much to look forward to in the New Year, even amidst a time of global uncertainty. In this context, I wish to reiterate the Government’s stand that we will continue our efforts in ensuring that no Malaysians will be left behind as we progress towards an advanced nation and we remain steadfast in upholding the the freedom of religion as enshrined in our constitution.
"Let us celebrate this festive season and welcome the New Year with a brand new resolution and make it our personal mission to assume responsibility in bringing Malaysia to the pinnacle of success.
"To all Malaysian Christians, let me once again wish you a Merry Christmas and to all Malaysians, a Happy New Year!"
