List of Penang BN candidates ready

The list of Penang Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates for the 13th general election has been determined, with 40 per cent of the candidates being new faces, state BN chairman Teng Chang Yeow said.

He said the list was waiting to be finalised by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Teng called on the BN component parties to support the candidates selected by the coalition's top leadership.

"We are confident that these candidates can put up a good fight against the opposition pact in the coming general election," he told reporters after launching the 1Malaysia Hawkers' Cooperative, here.

The advisor of the cooperative, Tan Sri Tan Khoon Hai, said the entity would help petty traders from the various communities to expand their business.
