Lokman Adam arrested during a Facebook Live session

KUALA LUMPUR: Former UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam was arrested by the police during a Facebook Live session at a restaurant, here, last night.
Lokman through live streaming entitled: ‘Each MP will be bribed RM3 million allocation if Budget 2021 is approved? For real?’
He also informed that a police officer came before ending the session.
“I was approached by several policemen. I do not know what they want. So I think tonight is enough. The police have been waiting a long time," he said before the session ended.
Astro AWANI found that the recording of the Facebook Live session was deleted from his personal Facebook page.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Director of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department, DCP Mior Faridalathrash Wahid, when contacted confirmed Lokman's detention to assist in the investigation.
"Lokman was detained to assist in the investigation under Section 506 of the Penal Code related to criminal intimidation, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities and Section 14 of the Minor Offenses Act 1955 for using rude words," he said when contacted by Astro AWANI, here, today.
He added that Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Huzir Mohamed will issue further statements on the matter.
In a separate statement, Lokman openly asked a lawyer to be sent to the Classified Criminal Investigation Department (JSJT) at the Bukit Aman police headquarters and contacted an individual known as Inspector Nasir.
"I was detained under Section 506," he said.
