Lokman Adam remanded for for using rude words, criminal intimidation

KUALA LUMPUR: Former UMNO Supreme Council member, Datuk Lokman Noor Adam was detained for committing acts that have elements of criminal intimidation and using obscene words against the leadership of the Prime Minister.
According to the Director of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Datuk Huzir Mohamed, the arrest was made at about 11 pm on Sunday and gadgets used to upload the video were confiscated.
"The remand application on the suspect has been made and allowed for one day. Further investigation is still ongoing," he said in a statement.
Investigations were classified under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminally intimidating offence and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities or network services.
Lokman is also being investigated under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 for using rude words.
Huzir asserted that the police will conduct a professional and fair investigation without pressure or instructions from any party.
Lokman was arrested by the police while conducting a Facebook Live session at a restaurant here last night.
Lokman, through a live streaming session, titled ‘Each MP will be bribed RM3 million allocation if Budget 2021 is passed? (Is this) for real?’, also informed that a police officer came before ending the session.
