Lovebirds charged with murder of four-year-old boy

BANGI: A pair of lovebirds was charged in the Magistrate’s Court here today with the murder of a four-year-old boy, who is the woman’s son.

N.Tanabalan, 27, and the woman, K. Puvaneswary, 30, nodded after the charge was read out to them in Tamil before judge Effandi Nazila Abdullah, who sat as a magistrate.

However, no plea was recorded as the case comes under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

Tanabalan and Puvaneswary were jointly charged with the murder of S. Dhevanesh at Pangsapuri Simfoni, Semenyih, between last Feb 14 and 12.19 pm on Feb 18.

The charge, under Section 302 of the Penal Code, provides the death sentence upon conviction.

The court set March 31 for mention.
