Low visibility until Thursday due to haze
These conditions are dangerous to boats which do not have navigational aids.
The low visibility of less than five kilometres caused by the haze in the the Strait of Melaka, Tioman, Kuching and Labuan is expected to continue until Thursday.
The Meteorological Department in a statement today said the same conditions would prevail in the waters off Kedah, Penang, Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor and Pahang.
Other affected waters are in Sarawak (Kuching, Rejang, Mukah, Bintulu and Miri) as well as in Labuan and Sabah (Pendalaman, West Coast and Kudat).
These conditions are dangerous to boats which do not have navigational aids.
The statement also said strong winds from the southwest travelling at speeds of 40 to 50 kmph with waves reaching 3.5 metres high were forecast for the waters off Condore, Reef North, Layang-Layang and Palawan until Thursday.
The strong winds and choppy seas are dangerous to small boats as well as sea and sports recreational boats.
