Low Yat brawl: Bagan Umno Chief released on police bail

Penang Bagan Umno division chief, Datuk Dr Shaikh Hussein Mydin, who was arrested following the fight in Low Yat Plaza here last weekend is released on police bail on Thursday.
A police spokeswoman said Shaikh, who was arrested to help in investigation under the Sedition Act 1948, was released at 4.30 pm.
Meanwhile another individual, Mohd Ali Baharom who was arrested under the same act to help in investigation into the case, was released with a bail of RM8,000 and one surety after pleading not guilty in the Sessions Court here Thursday.
The Malay Armed Forces Veterans Association president (PVTM), also known as Ali Tinju was alleged to have uttered five words that were racially provocative in front of the plaza at Jalan Bulan 1, Off Jalan Bukit Bintang, here at 8.30 pm last Sunday.
The spokeswoman said another individual, blog writer Papagomo whose real name is Wan Mohd Azri Wan Deris would be remanded until Friday.
The incident at Low Yat Plaza last Saturday was alleged to have been caused by the dissatisfaction of a male youth who was accused of stealing a mobile phone at a phone shop there.
