XLR8 took place over the weekend at Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside and elated Malaysians and motoring enthusiasts alike enjoyed two days of adrenaline-filled motoring activities. King of Clubs was such a success last year that they brought it back this year for! This time with car clubs from Europe and Asia who went head to head in six events to see who would emerge as champion! Gymkhana, Off-Road RC Racing, Racing Simulators, the Pitstop Challenge, Precision Driving and Treasure hunt – each challenge earned the team precious points and at the end of the day, the team with the highest score will arise triumphant.A photo posted by Style: Magazine Malaysia (@stylemagmalaysia) on
European car clubs did battle on Day 1 while the Asian car clubs went head to head on Day 2. After two whole days of intense competition, we had our winners! Congratulations are in order for Ford and Toyota for winning the European and Asian categories respectively!
This year the Flying Sikh, Karamjit Singh burnt some rubber by showing off his tarmac shredding skills in partnership with Mercedez-Benz and their AMG pocket rockets as well as Petronas. Besides all the car action, food trucks were dispersed all over the XLR8 event space. When hunger strikes, the hunger does overcome all and nothing will stand in the way of that craving. At the Movie Icons tent, we got to appreciate in the “flesh” some of the most iconic cars in film history and vehicles that have been eternalised for their famed appearances in movies, television and more. Last but not least, there was Asia Klasika just for the enthusiasts of vintage cars. Car lovers got to witness some of the rarest and most gorgeous cars that have ever graced Malaysian soil.
