KUALA LUMPUR: As the global energy landscape continues to shift, platforms that foster dialogue and innovation are becoming increasingly crucial.
One such platform is Lunch Escape, a recurring initiative developed in collaboration with the Malaysia Press Institute (MPI).
This year’s edition of Lunch Escape is especially significant as it sets the stage for Energy Asia 2025.
The event promises to deepen understanding and drive impactful stories on energy transition topics, encouraging broader media interactions with industry thought leaders.
Speaking about the platform’s evolving role, Ir. Norafizal Mat Saad, Vice President of Group Strategic Relations and Communications at PETRONAS, emphasised its critical influence.
“In collaboration with the Malaysian Press Institute (MPI), Lunch Escape is designed as an avenue for dialogue on thought-provoking topics, ranging from Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) to ESG Unpack in previous years
“This year, it’s all about Energy Asia, where we aim to create awareness and excitement around it, encouraging media interactions with industry experts and thought leaders, providing good opportunities for the media to gain deeper understanding of energy transition topics and push impactful stories to the masses.” said Norafizal.
The event has grown far beyond its original purpose as a networking session.

"It’s now a critical space for open idea exchange, where forward-looking conversations happen
“We look forward to continuing these dialogues in future editions—exploring timely topics and fostering collaborations with industry experts who can serve as insightful voices and spokespersons”, he added.
As the world moves closer to the critical conversations at Energy Asia 2025, Lunch Escape is setting the groundwork for impactful narratives that could shape the global energy agenda.
From AI to ESG, and now energy transition, the platform is not just reflecting industry movements but is actively influencing the discussions that will define the next wave of sustainable energy innovations.
With its commitment to meaningful dialogue, Lunch Escape proves that strategic conversations can indeed power impactful change, paving the way for a more sustainable and inclusive energy future.
