MACC arrest former GLC director for receiving RM2.5 mln bribe

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today arrested a former chief executive officer of a government-linked company for graft and alleged abuse of power.
The 51-year-old suspect will be charged under Section 409 of the Penal Code at the Jalan Duta Court’s Complex tomorrow.
MACC MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Azam Baki when contacted confirmed the arrest.
According to a source, the suspect will be charged for five criminal breach of trust charges done between April 30 and Oct 30, 2013.
The suspect was arrested by MACC at 3.30pm today after he is believed to receive RM2.5 million in bribes and power abuse for personal interest.
If he is found guilty, the suspect can be jailed not less than two years and not more than 20 years, caning and fined.
