The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has completed its investigation on a case involving the chairman of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA).
The investigation paper had been submitted to the deputy public prosecutor for scrutiny and decision, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Paul Low Seng Kuan in a written reply in parliament today.
Low was replying to a question from Mohamed Hanipa Maidin (Amanah-Sepang) who wanted the prime minister to state the status of investigation on the MACC case involving the MARA chairman.
Mohamed Hanipa also wanted to know if the main witness in the case, namely, the Tengku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim had been called to give his statement to the MACC.
Low said the MACC investigation found no neccessity to call Tunku Ismail to give his statement on the case.
The media reported that Tan Sri Annuar Musa was suspended from his duties as chairman of MARA and Pelaburan MARA Berhad (PMB) effective Jan 31.
The suspension was initiated to enable MARA's internal audit to investigate several matters including the PMB and Universiti Kuala Lumpur's sponsorship of The Red Warriors (Kelantan football team). - BERNAMA
