'MACC to continue investigations independently, transparently' - Mustafar Ali

MACC Deputy Commissioner (Prevention) Datuk Mustafar Ali described the cancellation of the transfer order by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa as a fair and reasonable move.

He also confirmed that the two officers, Special Operations Division director Datuk Bahri Mohamad Zin and Strategic Communications director Datuk Rohaizad Yaakob will be reinstated to their respective posts.

“All investigations will continue as usual. The directors are still there and the MACC will ensure the investigations would be carried out as usual in an independent, transparent and professional manner,” Mustafar told reporters at the MACC headquarters here today.

He however did not reveal the details on which investigation he had meant.

Earlier today, Mustafar said, the MACC welcomed the cancellation of the transfer order and thanked all quarters involved in the matter.

“The MACC would like to thank Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa and Public Service Department (PSD) director-general Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal and all quarters involved in the matter.

“The Commission will continue to carry out the duties and responsibilities independently, transparently and professionally as enshrined in the MACC Act 2009 in tandem with MACC’s aspirations,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bahri and Rohaizad when met at the MACC headquarters today, refused to comment on the cancellation of their transfer order to the Prime Minister’s Department.
