MACC detains director, govt department officer in Malacca
The case involved a contractor who made a false claim for a non-existent work or service which the director and the officer had allegedly approved.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) detained a director and an officer of a government department here to facilitate in the investigation into a false claim and corruption case.
According to source, the case involved a contractor who made a false claim for a non-existent work or service which the director and the officer had allegedly approved.
Both the director and the officer were suspected to have made a pact with the contractor in making and approving the false claim to obtain cash for themselves.
Malacca MACC director Ramli Ismail, when contacted, confirmed the detention of the director and the officer, saying that the case was being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
