Currently, the module on prevention of corruption is only taught to Sixth Form students through the General Paper.
The Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) will collaborate with the Higher Education Ministry to introduce anti-corruption modules to students in higher learning institutions (IPT).
Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali said the move is a long-term effort to curb corruption by MACC with involvement from all levels of society.
"The module related to the prevention of corruption is taught to Sixth Form students through the General Paper, but at the IPT level either in the public universities or private institutions, they still do not have the module.
"In this regard, the Commission hopes that it can be used as a module especially for final year students who will be entering the workforce to have the graft-free mentality, to work free of corruption and champion anti-corruption," he said.
Mustafar said this at a press conference after attending the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) Strategic Partnership Programme in collaboration with the Kuantan Municipal Council (MPK) at Rumah Tamu Seri Gelora here Wednesday.
The programme, which started last Sunday, was officiated by Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob.
Mustafar said the commission emphasised the concept of 5K in corruption prevention efforts, namely of Understanding, Awareness, Realisation, Sincerity and Success which should be applied by each individual from the beginning.
"A good understanding of corruption will raise consciousness so they do not deviate from the prescribed procedures while performing a task, whether they are civil servants or private sector employees.
"If the 5K can be practised, it will succeed in getting the country free of corruption and have the best governance," he said.
Mustafar said the fight against corruption by bringing MACC closer to the people is also intensified via MACC.FM radio to provide information, facts and explanations regarding the independent body.
MACC.FM is broadcast 24 hours daily since its launch on Dec 9.
