The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) are working with the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) to introduce studies on integrity and prevention of corruption as a module in the curriculum for higher education.
MACC's Community Education division director Abdul Samat Kasah said the move was an effort by MACC to educate students about the value of integrity and prevent corruption at all levels.
"We are working with the Curriculum committee and vice chancellors of four public universities to include elements of integrity and anti-corruption measures in the education system.
"The pilot project would involve programmes to prepare students for challenges they would face when they start their career," he told Bernama after a briefing on the subject of integrity and corruption at the Bernama Excellence Centre, here on Thursday.
He said last year, the MACC had successfully included elements related to the prevention of bribery in text books used in Islamic Studies and Moral for Year Six students with the cooperation of the Education Ministry.
Abdul Samat said the same elements had been added to text books used by Form One students and next year, the subject will be extended to Form Four students.
